Vayu such a simple spartan name...n such hedonism they promote oh my!!Carnage in its totality was witnessed by all those 'wobbly-knees-is-my-middle-name-people' at the Hard Rock Cafe on the first of Feb 2007 at Worli.This undoubtebly was one of the best Vayu gigs i've attended ..n shall remain etched in my memory for Quite sum time 2 come. Due credit to the HRC guys ...and by this i mean the Dj..the music console guys and the helpful 'butt-shaking-to-Y.M.C.A' stewards setting the needed mood and ambience..The sound system was awesome ..Dat money has surely been spent well.For me it all started by meeting Ravi Sir(yes he is my guitar sir n no matter how crazy i am about those fingers of his movin o dat fender i just dont have da 'authorita' for it to be Sir ravi) ...telling him about his and Vayu's ever growing fan following.. coming out convinced 2 overcome my demented procrastinating abilities n start practising once again.The guyz kick started it wit Pearl Jam's 'Alive' instantly putting things and people into top gear and getting them a standing ovation(which i remeber happend with evry song dat followed)n did i mention they played it perfectly(same as in afore-mentioned brackets)..Me and my friends were hazed out an cocked eyed by the prospect of such nirvana for 3hrs,credit the budweiser and breezers,when they took on 'purple haze' head on..This bliss continued with 2Blue waking the tight rope n moving the crowed,albeit hitting on chics n vice-versa,gracefully(Mate ur Crazy!!).Shubert,2blue,Ravi,Gopaal n Crosby were warming up to future prospects ..when 'ozzy' n 'hey u' hit home..this introspective swaying and soul searchin wus suddenly split apart by da immmortal 'the wall series" admist mumbles of 'perfect man..perfect'..there wus a void ..n ppl experienced a strange bliss thinkin things just cant get better...When the luv making started..Shubert and Crosby during 'shine on','coming back to life'(man awesome trumpet solo on dat key board),2Blue n Gopaal doin sum pUUUUUrfect Ian Gillian,Paice stuff during 'child in time' n R.iyer was 'At It' with his fender during 'comfortably numb','the crush of luv'(yuuuhu ol' satch rules!!)n finally thank fukin God 'soldier of fortune'..this song alone made it worth it(fellow 'sof' fanatics may understand)..me n my friends,fueled by bloody marys n breezers, were now cursing our studies n dreamin abt only starting a band n playing music 4 the rest of our lifes letting loose the profligacy.. but by now love for rock and roll took over evry 1 da ppl,da band,da hrc guyz i distictly rem people putting down their liquor,closing their eyes n giving in to the trance of it all.
N so here i end this long overdue a tribure 2 Vayu by saying dat by da end of it ppl were ..ummm satisfied,hearts n minds..U guyz r undoubtebly one of the best rock bands of India n cheers 2 promoting tyranny..tyranny of rock music which yesterday said from within us all ...Veni,vidi,vici
